Many of you must know by now that there has been an ongoing debate over whether or not ES Tension Rod Bushings cause premature failure, or excessive wear on the lower control arms in our cars. Some of you may have seen my previous post about how during a recent oil change I noticed my Lower Control Arm was cracked pretty badly. After having them removed and seeing just how bad the damage was I urge any of you that have ES Tension Rod Bushings, to replace them immediately and carefully inspect your lower control arms. I consider myself lucky that I caught the cracks before something serious happened and I ended up hurting myself or anyone else. On to the Pictures which should leave no doubt in your minds about replacing ur ES Tension Rod Bushings. Cracked Area of Arm
After A few taps, literally, from a ratchet handle.
The Piece that fell out close up. I seriously consider myself very lucky.
Thanks to Street Needs for helping me get my point across, and Shawn @ Power Supply Racing for doing the work and providing my new lower arms.
I need a new Sig. |
